9 year old Aidan McCann wins over the judges with his amazing magic
Nine year old Aidan McCann, a native of Gorey, Ireland, amazed the judges and audience on Ireland’s Got Talent with his impressive magic tricks.
Aidan lives in Maynooth with his parents Noella and Ronnie, as well as his sister Molly and their pets.
Noella is originally from Kilnahue in Gorey and is the daughter of Mary and Noel Brennan. All of Noella’s sisters attended Loreto School, where they were heavily involved in drama with the Gorey Musical Society.
Noella now runs a professional performing arts school and also works as an actor. Aidan asked his parents if he could audition for Ireland’s Got Talent to show off his magic to a larger audience.
He first developed an interest in magic at around four or five years old and was fascinated by the tricks that magicians used to do. Aidan loves performing card tricks for his parents’ friends and seeing their reactions.
His family and teachers have been very supportive of him, with Noella describing her son as ‘fun-loving and sensitive’ but with a great level of confidence when he takes to the stage.
Aidan noted that it is his dream to have his own TV show like his favourite street magician, Dynamo.
During Aidan’s audition, Jason Byrne commented that he was like a ‘mini version’ of himself, admiring the young boy’s confidence and ability.
This is sure to be just the start of Aidan’s journey as a magician and entertainer!
