Doagh Famine Village

Meet Pat Doherty, the man behind the Doagh Famine Village in the Isle of Doagh in Inishowen, Co. Donegal. The business was originally established in 1997 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Great Famine. It has since evolved into a record of the social history of Ireland from the 1840s right up to the present time.

Slieve League (Sliabh Liag)

Slieve League is a mountain on the Atlantic coast of County Donegal, Ireland. At 596 metres (1,955 ft), it has some of the highest sea cliffs on the island of Ireland. Although less famous than the Cliffs of Moher in County Clare, Slieve League’s cliffs reach almost three times higher.

Slieve League is often photographed from a viewpoint known as Bunglass. It can be reached by means of a narrow road that departs from Teelin. The final few kilometers of this route is built along a precipice and includes several places where it turns at the crest of a rise.

An Grianán of Aileach

Its walls are about 4.5 metres (15 ft) thick and 5 metres (16 ft) high and it encloses an area of 23.6 meters (77 ft).A magnificent ancient structure that was renovated in the 1870s and provides some of the best views in the country.

Errigal

Fanad Head Lighthouse

Fanad Lighthouse is one of the 15 Signature Discovery Points along the Wild Atlantic Way. The 202 year old Lighthouse is one of the most recognisable and iconic in the country.

Not only can you go and visit it but you can also stay in it too! It is located at the end of the spectacular Fanad Peninsula. We think when you watch this you will definately want to go and see it If not even stay there! When you go say hello to the staff. They are so knowledgeable about the Lighthouse and all the surrounding areas and they could not be more helpful.

If you have never been to Tory Island please watch this video and we think you will definitely want to go. We can say no more – it speaks for itself!

Ards Forest Park

Ards Forest Park is probably one of the most beautiful and varied of Ireland’s forest parks. It is 480 hectares in extent and contains a large diversity of plant and wildlife forms. Sandy beaches, rivers, viewing points, nature walks, picnic and play areas. Hours can be spent here in complete relaxation, be it on the many nature walks or on its golden beaches. It is a place for everyone to get away for a while.

But bring €5 in coins for the gate. Its a looooong walk otherwise

Glenveagh National Park is a must see location when exploring County Donegal in Ireland. The park itself is locaed outside of Letterkeny and not too far from Mount Errigal.
